☠He lost €1,000 all because of this mistake!

Here are some lines that come back to me far too often:

" I can't sell my product "

" Dropshipping isn't for me. "

" The advertising costs are too expensive for me... "

Just yesterday, someone sent me a message telling me that his product was not selling.

As an exception, I asked him to send me his website to understand where the problem was coming from.

The verdict quickly came down

Firstly, he didn't use Seller Pulse or any tools for his product selection.

Instead, he picked a product that appeared frequently on his Facebook feed and that he thought was promising.

This is a good way of looking at it, but his mistake was not to dig any deeper before he started.

His product was:

The famous electro-stimulation abs machine. A device that you probably are familiar with due to its success.

At first sight this is not a bad product. Sales are still strong, the resale price is interesting and the market appears to be dynamic.

However, when looking at the numbers of several sellers on Seller Pulse, you can quickly see that it is a product to ignore (especially when you're just starting out)!

In light of the number of sales, it can be deduced that the product has already been very widely exploited. There is strong competition and potentially high advertising costs.

Secondly, it is easy to see that it is a product that is losing momentum. A product that therefore has no growth potential, probably because the market is running out of steam.

But there were also other mistakes that were made

Besides entering a saturated and shrinking market, this person has only:

  • Copy-paste AliExpress video
  • Created a basic site that doesn't really encourage people to buy.
  • Launched Facebook Ads without strategizing or testing

A device such as this machine, which sells about 100 units a day, may still have potential.

But this requires a different positioning, with a strong brand identity, a professional website and ideally packaging and a product with the brand's colors.

None of this has been done.

Ultimately this person has spent more than 1000€ in just one week to make only about ten sales.

Conclusion

No matter what products you find, and especially when you're just starting out, take the time to analyze them.

Remember that a successful product is not necessarily a successful product for you.

It took me less than 5 minutes to review the top 5 AliExpress sellers to notice that this product was systematically oversold and losing momentum.

A simple action that could have discouraged this person from entering this saturated market and, above all, avoided wasting an entire advertising budget on a product experiencing a loss of momentum.

So, the next time you fall under the charm of a winner, please think back to this email. Take 5 mins of your time to analyze its potential before you go for it.
